Prof. Giovanni De Micheli is a world-renowned expert in electronics and computer science; he is credited with inventing the Network on Chip (NoC) design automation paradigm and advancing Electronic Design Automation (EDA). Prof. De Micheli, who goes by Nanni, is the Director of the Integrated Systems Laboratory at EPFL Lausanne, Switzerland, and previously taught at Stanford University.
With over 900 technical publications, an h-index above 100, and authorship of seminal books like Synthesis and Optimization of Digital Circuits, Nanni’s work spans integrated circuit design, emerging technologies, and biomedical data processing. He is a Fellow of ACM, IEEE, and AAAS and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. His many accolades include the 2022 IEEE/CEDA Phil Kaufman Award and the 2019 ACM/SIGDA Pioneering Achievement Award.
